BMW E90 Comfort Close With Key Fob: KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB Coding

On the E90, closing the windows and sunroof from the key fob is enabled by setting KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB in the CAS module to aktiv. After coding, holding the lock button for a few seconds closes any open windows and the sunroof. No extra hardware is needed; the function already exists in CAS software. What does KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB do? The parameter attaches a close command to the remote lock signal. While you keep the lock button pressed, CAS drives the closing movement through the door modules and the sunroof module. Releasing the button stops it. Anti-pinch protection stays active, so a window that meets an obstruction reverses. Some markets receive the car with this feature switched off from the factory. Reverting means setting the same parameter back to nicht_aktiv. If you saved a backup before coding, restoring that file is safer, because it returns the whole module state rather than just this one line. The coding only unlocks a command; the window is still moved by the mechanism already in the car. It is therefore worth looking at the window regulators and the sunroof before enabling it, because a stiff or unnormalised mechanism shows itself first when you close remotely. If a window or the sunroof already drags mechanically, repair that first. Comfort close will finish off a tired window motor sooner, because the close command can now be issued while you are away from the car instead of only from inside the door. What if the windows do not close? The most common cause is that the window regulators have lost their normalisation values. Lower each window fully, raise it fully, then hold the switch up for another two seconds at the top. The sunroof needs the same relearn in its closed position. If comfort close still fails after that, read the CAS data again to confirm the coding was actually written.
