Does this coding set the sensitivity itself?
No, not directly. Setting the three parameters to aktiv makes sensitivity options visible in the trip computer menu, and you then make the actual choice from that menu. The distinction matters, because if you expect the headlights to behave differently the moment you finish coding, you may decide nothing changed and revert for no reason.

• Move the car out from under cover and switch the ignition on without starting the engine.
• Connect with OBDThink and search the KOMBI module for the light setting lines.
• Save a backup, then set the LICHT_AUT_WERT_1 and LICHT_AUT_WERT_2 lines to aktiv.
• Set LICHT_AUT_WERT_3 to aktiv as well and write all three changes together.
• Cycle the ignition, find the sensitivity option in the trip computer menu and pick a step.

How do you revert it?
Reverting means returning all three lines to nicht_aktiv. The menu option disappears and the automatic headlights continue at factory sensitivity. Restoring a pre-coding backup returns all three lines in one step.

What should you weigh when choosing a level?
Making the sensor less sensitive means the headlights come on later at dusk. Even if daytime running lights keep the car visible from the front, the tail lights are not lit, so visibility from behind drops. A more sensitive setting, on the other hand, can make the lights switch on and off repeatedly under bridges and on tree-lined roads.
Automatic headlights do not remove your responsibility to switch them on by hand. In heavy rain and fog ambient brightness can stay high and the sensor may never trigger; in those conditions set the light switch manually.
What if the option does not appear?
First read the KOMBI data back and confirm all three lines really were written as aktiv. Second, check whether your car has iDrive, because per the source note the method produces nothing on iDrive cars. Third, the option may sit deeper in the menu structure, so cycle through the whole menu with the stalk button to the end.
