Alongside that, option $459 must be added to the vehicle order held by the CAS and FRM modules.
What exactly does this coding enable?
The coding does not drive the seat motors; the seat already moves from its own switches. What it enables is the appearance of seat memory settings in the cluster menu and the car's recognition that this equipment exists. Without that recognition, the memory buttons may store a position while functions such as automatic recall on door opening remain incomplete.

How do you code it?

• Switch the ignition on without starting the engine and attach a charger if you have one.
• Read the coding data of the CAS, FRM and KOMBI modules and save a backup of all three.
• Add option $459 to the CAS and FRM vehicle order and recode both modules.
• In the KOMBI module set the SITZ_AUT_VERST_AUS and SITZ_AUT_VERST_ENT lines to aktiv.
• Set SITZ_AUT_VERST_ENT_T to aktiv as well and write the changes.
• Switch off, wait a minute, then store a position with the memory button and recall it.

How do you revert it?
A revert has to cover both stages: set the three KOMBI lines to nicht_aktiv and remove $459 from the CAS and FRM vehicle order. Undoing only the KOMBI lines leaves the vehicle order changed. The cleanest route is restoring the pre-coding backups of all three modules together.

What should you watch in a vehicle order change?
The vehicle order is the high-level record of what equipment the car carries, and it reaches wider than any single parameter. Adding the wrong code can make unrelated modules behave unexpectedly or store faults. That is precisely why each module needs its own separate backup.
Pay attention to wiring gauge in a powered seat retrofit. Seat motors draw high current, and a thin or unfused supply creates a risk of heating and fire under the seat. Coding neither creates nor removes that risk, but make sure the wiring is done properly before you code.
What if the menu does not appear?
First read the data back and confirm all three KOMBI lines really were written as aktiv, because skipping the third one is the most common mistake. Second, make sure $459 was added to both CAS and FRM; adding it to only one is usually not enough. Third, if the seat does not move from its own switches, the problem is in the wiring rather than the coding.
